Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) is a state-funded program created under Senate Bill 2 that allows eligible families to access public funds through an education savings account. These funds can be used toward tuition and other approved educational expenses at participating education providers, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

Odyssey is the program administrator selected by the State of Texas to manage TEFA operations. This includes:

- Processing applications

- Reviewing eligibility documents

- Managing family accounts

- Distributing funds to approved schools

Odyssey does not:

- Decide school or program admissions

- Set tuition rates or policies

- Provide educational services

Yes. Frog Academy meets the state’s eligibility standards to accept TEFA funds.

While participation is not required, we have chosen to participate as we continue monitoring state guidelines and practices. We will continue participating only as long as we can do so while maintaining our faith-centered mission and curriculum.

Children who will be 3, 4, or 5 years old by September 1, 2027 and are enrolling in:

- Pre-K3

- Pre-K4

- Kindergarten

Students must also be a:

- U.S. citizen

- National

- Lawful resident eligible to attend a Texas public school

If applications exceed available funding, a state lottery may be used. Priority is generally given in the following order:

- Students with qualifying disabilities from lower-income households

- Children whose family income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

- Children whose family income is between 200%–500% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

- All other eligible students as funds remain available

Not necessarily.

TEFA is a competitive state program and funding is not guaranteed. Meeting eligibility requirements does not automatically mean a family will receive funding.

The program depends on available state funding, and if more families apply than available funds, applications may be prioritized and a lottery may be used.

We encourage families who are interested and eligible to apply, while also planning ahead in case funding is not awarded.

We understand families may want to wait for a funding decision. However, please keep the following in mind:

- Enrollment fees are non-refundable, regardless of whether a family applies for or receives TEFA funding.

- Enrollment timelines and deadlines still apply.

- Waiting for a TEFA decision may impact availability, as spaces at both campuses are limited.

We encourage families not to delay enrollment while waiting for funding decisions.

Not automatically.

All families, regardless of TEFA eligibility or funding status, must complete Frog Academy’s standard enrollment process. Enrollment is based on available space at each campus.

The application window for the 2027–2028 school year has not yet been announced.
